Refineries releasing wastewater often need to measure the hexane extractable material in the water for compliance with local and international regulations. Oil & Grease (hexane extractables) is a general indicator of the amount of hydrocarbon in a water supply. It is an important measurement that can be used to indicate water quality and help ensure consistent wastewater treatment plant operation.
The Biotage Horizon 3100 Oil & Grease Extractor system offers reliable operation even with highly particulated samples. New features include a redesigned water inlet valve and simple to operate graphical software with a touch screen controller. Automated Oil & Grease measurements using solid phase extraction use less solvent and provide consistent good recoveries.
The Horizon 3100 extractor, coupled with the SpeedVap solvent evaporation system, solvent delivery system, Pacific Premium disks and pre-filters, provides a complete workflow process for Oil & Grease analysis.
The Horizon 3100 extractor automates the entire extraction process and is fully compliant with regulatory methods such as US EPA method 1664A/B, ISO 11349, and Standard Methods 5520G. The extractor handles all types of samples with reliable operation and uses the original sample bottle to dispense the sample and automatically rinses it. Disks and bottles of various sizes can be accommodated.
